HAUTE COUTURE

I decided this post's title this morning while flipping through the magazine I got the image shown below when I was still holding my coffee on my hand -waiting for it to cool down a bit cause I hate boiling-kind-of-drinks- and wich, by the way, is one of the moments I enjoy the most through my day. That moment when you crawl into bed again after having breakfast and you go through your favorite magazines, newspapers, your mail and the TV suddenly no longer exists. Then I felt the need to extrapolate a concept exclusively referred to fashion cause it was the first thing that came to my mind while looking at these pictures. After all, haute couture it's about rich fabrics, exquisite making and an spectacular making off. You'll all agree with me any of the three spaces shown down here are a good example of haute couture, haute decó, a job well done and the good living. Like madmoiselle Coco said: "Fashion changes, style endures".

SOFISTICADO BALANCE / SOPHISTICATED BALANCE

I found this fabulous GANRugs's carpet with this David Hicks's pattern and I thought: "how cool it'd look on an office, a studio, a work space or something like that". Being said that, I started looking for defined lines kind of pieces, defined volume furniture and impeccably finished. Basically, I was playing with the geometric order and shapes we have all over the rug and create another visual pattern to follow with furniture. I believe our performance it's directly related to the environment we're surrounded by and how we feel about it though we can take this concept and use it with any other room and activity at any time of the day, doesn't matter if it's about our job or not. What this is really about it's about feeling good.

SENCILLO, CÁLIDO Y ACOGEDOR / EASILY WARM AND COUSY

If there's something I love about a space it's to put some order in it and I'm not talking about just the order we are all supposed to keep at home but the visual one we get by placing objects and furniture in a way or another. The warm touch comes through these wonderful chineese lacquered pieces and must I mention this fabulous Becara's shells chandelier, a timeless piece that'd work perfectly in any kind of room, it reminds me some hand made by some hippies back at the beaches of northern Peru which is, by the way, another key while decorating our rooms: to materialize our memories, the good ones and find a way to link them.
